Characteristics of Success-Prone Institutions

Lack of academic preparation, in conjunction with other complex factors, contributes to the low completion rates commonly seen among community college students, particularly minority students. Some schools, however, have succeeded in guiding students to completion while honoring their commitment to serve students of all academic backgrounds. Within this topic, you’ll find research that examines how institution-level policies, practices, and characteristics impact student achievement.
