Role of Community College Trustees
The nation’s goal to double our number of college graduates relies on the transformation of community colleges to improve transfer and graduation rates. More than ever, community college boards of trustees are being charged with leveraging their position as education and community leaders to advocate for local and state policy change to enable this transformation. To support the role of the community college trustee as leader and advocate in improving student success, included here are guides for creating conditions for change through effective conversation, one state’s evidence-based policy recommendations to support student success, a case study report on building partnerships for workforce development, and other reports for advancing the student success agenda.
