Student Persistence & Continuous Attendance

Whether enrolling straight out of high school or as older adult learners, many community college students find it difficult to progress through a full course of study. Those without a strong history of academic success may be frustrated by their perceived academic shortcomings, while non-traditional students are likely to face significant challenges balancing outside commitments. This topic explores how various challenges impact students’ likelihood to continue in school as well as recommendations for creating classroom and school environments that encourage engagement with the learning process.
